We are a Certified Firm with the IICRC. ( This institute is designed to improve carpet cleaning standards, and to help eliminate unethical carpet cleaning companies.) The IICRC provides continuing education for carpet cleaners and keeps us up to date on the latest technology.
The IICRC does not allow its members to use unethical "bait and switch" advertising. This is also against the law, but very few carpet cleaners ever get prosecuted. That's why we fight them. That's why I need your help. You may not know this, but not all carpet cleaners are the same. Not only because some of them use deplorable advertising, but there is a big difference in how they clean. I use only hot water extraction. Critical factors which must be considered in choosing a carpet cleaning system must include the training/ability of the technician, how effectively the system initially cleans, how it enhances the appearance retention of the carpet and the fact that residues must be minimal.
Shaw Industries’ policy is based on laboratory testing and field experience. Shaw’s policy is to use HOT WATER EXTRACTION done by a trained carpet cleaning professional. Research has shown that this method provides the best capability for thorough cleaning which results in optimum carpet performance, appearance, and user satisfaction.
Training is the most important factor in the cleaning process. Shaw Industries’ policy is that cleaning technicians must be trained and certified under the auspices of the International Institute of Cleaning & Restoration Certification. Further supporting this policy is the fact that IICRC programs require continuing education in order to maintain certification.
